It will protect the dog from injury in case of sudden braking or a minor accident. When choosing a dog carrier, its not just the size – your dog should be comfortable in it – but also the material and design that are important. A metal carrier with sharp edges can hurt the dog, so plastic one are better. An open mesh design will keep the dog happier as it can see what is going on around it and also ensures proper ventilation.

If you travel with your dog, you will need a dog carrier. You can reduce the amount of unhappiness your dog feels on being placed in one by getting him accustomed to it slowly in the house. While the larger the carrier is the more difficult it is to transport, the dog carrier needs to be large enough for your dog to be comfortable in. Once you have the right size, encourage your dog to enter it himself by placing treats inside .Once he is happy in there, get him used to spending time inside with the door closed. When he is used to the dog carrier it will provide the dog a sense of security and comfort while travelling.
